Command Team


The Sheriff has a large area of responsibility assigned to them by the Maine Constitution. To assist in accomplishing these responsibilities, the Sheriff has assembled a Command Team that is comprised of key personnel from the various divisions. This team provides the Sheriff with advice and guidance on various operational matters and manage the daily operations of their respective areas of responsibility.

Law Enforcement

The Patrol Administrator is primarily responsible for the operational aspects of the Patrol Division, including Airport Security, Island Contract Deputies, and other specialized patrol services, and continually ensures that all applicable standards and laws are met or exceeded. The Patrol Administrator is directly accountable to the Chief Deputy.


Reginald Walker

Criminal Investigations Supervisor (Lieutenant)

The Detective Supervisor is primarily responsible for the operational aspects of the Criminal Investigations Division, which includes long term, complex, or sensitive investigations, polygraph examinations, and crime statistics auditing, and ensures that all applicable standards and laws are met or exceeded. The Detective Supervisor is directly accountable to the Chief Deputy.

The Administrative Assistant to the Sheriff's Office performs a wide variety of tasks which are vital to the overall operations of the entire Knox County Sheriff's Office. Duties include coordinating meetings for law enforcement personnel, purchase and invoice processing, swearing in officials and deputies, notarizing documents, managing internal investigation files, responding to Freedom of Access Act requests for the Department, training employees with new programs implemented, assistant grant manager, and assists with managing the social media presence for Knox County Sheriff's Office.

The Security & Operations Coordinator is primarily responsible for corrections security staff and the overall security of the correctional facility; additionally, is responsible for the training and education of all Sheriff's Office personnel. The Programs & Services Coordinator is primarily responsible for planning, implementing, supervising, and managing various programs that are specifically geared toward the needs of the incarcerated population; these programs assist in reducing stress, enhance productivity and education, and establish a more stable reintegration into the community. The programs and Services Coordinator is directly accountable to the Corrections Administrator.

The Administrative Assistant to the Jail Administrator is the bookkeeper of the inmates' commissary accounts and other financial accounts related to the jail, including tracking the jail budget.  Other responsibilities include, but are not limited to:  buyer and tracker of jail supplies, inmate uniforms and hygiene supplies, and officer uniforms; general office duties, typing minutes of meetings, notarizing documents for both inmates and jail staff, dedimus justice duties; managing the indigent inmate commissary program and the non-indigent commissary program; answering inmate queries pertaining to their commissary accounts and phone money; working with the Programs Department to purchase items for the inmates' benefit and such things as may be needed by the substance use counselors/mental health counselors.
