Civil Process

Our Civil division is responsible for processing and serving all civil paperwork in Knox county. This includes but is not limited to: Summonses, Small Claims, Family Matters, Evictions, Subpoenas, etc. We work closely with the courts, other law enforcement agencies, Attorneys, landlords and our pro se customers.

Although we do our best to make sure that all paperwork is served + returned in a timely manner, please know that successful service is dependent on the information you provide & how quickly our Deputy can make contact with the intended recipient.

Serving the communities of: Appleton, Camden, Cushing, Friendship, Hope, Isle Au Haut, Matinicus Isle Plantation, North Haven, Owls Head, Rockland, Rockport, South Thomaston, St. George, Thomaston, Union, Vinalhaven, Warren & Washington.

SERVICE (OUT-OF-STATE COURT) - $80.00

DILIGENT SEARCH - $40.00

COUNTY COMMISSIONERS FEE - $25.00

ADMINISTRATIVE FEE - $15.00

POSTAGE - $0.63

MILEAGE (REGULAR) - $0.625 PER MILE

MILEAGE (STATE OF MAINE) - $0.45 PER MILE
